In a world where most people give up when pain hits, Lucas Pulmão decided to do the opposite — to breathe harder, fight stronger, and live louder.
Born in the small countryside town of Dois Córregos, São Paulo, Brazil, Lucas grew up with a diagnosis that doctors said would limit his life expectancy.
But the boy “who wasn’t supposed to live long” turned that sentence into a mission.
From a Lifelong Diagnosis to a Life Without Limits
Lucas was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a rare genetic disease with no cure that mainly affects the lungs, pancreas, and digestive system.
“It’s not pulmonary fibrosis — it’s something completely different,” he explains. “In my case, the mucus and sweat cells are unregulated, which causes excess mucus, dehydration, and several complications.”
Even though no one else in his family carries the condition, Lucas became the first generation to face it head-on.
“I used to spend six months of the year hospitalized. But the more muscle I built, the less time I spent in the hospital,” he says. “Bodybuilding literally saved my life.”
When Pain Becomes Power

Training with oxygen support, surviving lung collapses, and living through multiple hospitalizations — these are just chapters of his story.
“My first pneumothorax almost killed me. They had to drain my lung urgently to save me,” Lucas recalls.
But instead of fear, that near-death moment gave him purpose.
“As Júlio Balestrin once told me: ‘Use your illness as motivation to give your best.’ That’s what I do.”
Today, Lucas trains, creates content, and inspires millions online — proving that limitations exist only in the mind.
The Bodybuilder Who Breathes Courage
Lucas chose bodybuilding not just as a sport, but as a reason to keep living.
With an oxygen tank by his side and a body that often refuses to cooperate, he lifts weights that many healthy people can’t.
“My goal is to become the greatest Brazilian bodybuilder who uses oxygen. That’s not a dream — that’s a goal,” he says with conviction.
He even went viral for training inside a hospital.
“No one had ever done that. I wanted to show people that there are no excuses.”
Fighting Ignorance With Information
Beyond being an athlete, Lucas has become a voice for lung health awareness.
He creates educational content about cystic fibrosis and other respiratory conditions — and for many families, he’s the first face of hope.
“When someone is diagnosed, they usually hear that life expectancy is short. But when they find my page and see what I do, they realize it’s possible. It’s hard, but it’s possible.”
He also uses his platform to warn about the dangers of vaping, cigarettes, and hookah.
“Never inhale any substance. You don’t know what it’s like to be on a lung transplant list,” he warns.
Living to Inspire
Despite all the challenges, Lucas keeps moving — training, filming, working with sponsors, and staying faithful to his treatments.
“I work with brands that believe in me. Their support helps me pay for medicine, hospital stays, and my daily needs,” he explains.
Every post he makes is more than content — it’s a breath of resistance.
Because while his lungs may be weak, his will is unbreakable.
A Tattoo and a Testament
Etched across his back is the phrase that sums up his life:
“Make me strong in body and soul.”
It’s not just a tattoo — it’s a declaration.
Lucas Pulmão isn’t just a name; it’s a reminder to the world that even when air is scarce, the will to live can be infinite.
💬 Lucas’ final message:
“I don’t know how much time I have, but I know that every breath I take is worth fighting for.
If I can do it, so can you. Take a deep breath — and keep going.”
