“I’m just going to get on here unscripted and give you guys some news this week. Unfortunately, I had to make the very difficult decision to pull out of the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
Now, first and foremost, I’d like to say that I don’t owe anybody an explanation on any decision that I make or how I live my life. But in accordance with my own values, I do want to get on here and explain myself in the hopes of helping anybody else who is struggling and needs a loving, extending hand.
I think it’s safe to say that I haven’t made this decision lightly due to my mental health struggling significantly. I have been prepping for over a year, having a partially torn TFO, herniated discs in my neck, getting through a massive dog bite injury, and a lot of other stuff I can’t even mention on the Internet. I don’t feel as though I’m in the position to step on the Mr. Olympia stage.
After taking two years off of the stage, I came back and I made an incredible impact. I gave Ms. Olympia a run for her money. I overcame an incredible dog bite injury that should have taken me out for good. I invested in my mental health. I finally addressed my borderline personality disorder and my PTSD that have given me so much pain for so long.
I fought through hells that I can’t even discuss on the Internet and I still brought the best physique of my life and requalified for the Olympia for the third time in my life. More importantly, I proved to myself that I am who I say I am, still as an athlete and as a human being.
During these two years that I took off, I heavily invested in understanding Rachel and separating the real Lois Lane from who Rachel is. The reason I was able to come back this year and make such an impact that I did was because of that investment in myself and in Rachel and in my mental health.
And with that came certain promises that I made to myself, one of which being that I would never sacrifice my mental health or potentially losing my life for any trophy. Bodybuilding has done incredible things for me as a human. But I truly believe that being a bodybuilder doesn’t just mean growing your muscles, it means growing your mind and expanding it. And I have truly evolved.
I respect the Olympia tremendously, but I am not the same athlete or human being that I was back in 2020 when I got my pro card and won New York Pro a week later and found myself at my first Olympia within four months, thinking that I was just somehow a mistake and lucky to be there.
If you learn anything from me, know that I am not just an online persona. Everything I do, say and feel in real life and on the Internet is 100% authentically me, and I refuse to ever give that up to entertain the world. I do not bodybuild for trophies. I do not create art for likes, and I refuse to step on a stage like the Olympia at the cost of my soul.
I am an alchemist. It is my greatest superpower, my ability to take incredibly negative things — pain, trauma, heartbreak — and turn them into something beautiful. And I really, truly love myself for that.
I’m now in Washington State, alone in the forest, my favorite place in the world. I’ve been sleeping on the ground. I’ve been creating art. I’ve been listening to God, and most importantly, I have been giving myself some love.
I thought that I would have so much shame and regret about this decision, but being out here, I’m truly just overcome with so much joy that I am brave enough to make my own path and to pick myself in a world where everyone is so fucking scared to.
I’m so much more than a bodybuilder. I am an artist. I’m a businesswoman. I’m a musician. I’m an athlete. I’m a leader. And you’ll never be able to fit me in any box. And being out here in the forest and creating art and feeding my soul, I am truly reminded that in order to be a leader, in order to conduct the orchestra, you must be willing to, and you must be brave enough to, turn your back on the crowd.
To my surprise, I have had a tremendous amount of support from my close circle, my family, my friends, my coach Andrew Vu, my most important mentor to me, Kenny Wal.”
